Victory Is Mine! pt 4 of 4

Victory Is Mine!
by Pastor Alan Harris

Part 4 of 4

I realize I have been hearing a voice for a long time. It is soothing and gentle like a breeze on a summer day. Who is it? What is it saying? I feel it drawing me closer….

With sudden clarity I realize the voice is the Holy Spirit calling me and the Word’s He is speaking are scriptures that were written down in my heart long ago. The suddenness with which He comes quickens me as phrases long neglected begin to surface:

"Lift your head" "All things are possible" "Redemption draweth nigh"

"Desires of you heart" "Cast Your Cares" "My sheep know my voice"

"Come to Me" "God so loved’ "Eternal Life" "Every knee should bow"

"Jesus" "King of Kings" "Lord of Lords"

"Power in the Blood"

I suddenly remember the CROSS! On the day I got saved I came to the Cross and met Jesus there. That is where I need to go…..

For the first time in many days I look up and cry out "JESUS". A hand reaches down for me and I instantly know that hand. It is the nail scarred hand of my Savior who was wounded in the house of his friends.

I reach with gladness and feel His strength lift me free from my chains of bondage. The sand and clay release their hold upon me and I begin to rise. I smell clean and fresh air for the first time in many days. My feet are set down on solid ground. A path that starts and ends each day at the Cross is laid out before me.

Psalm 107:1-8

O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
