Haiti Cries
Haiti Cries
Haiti was once a land of promise
Beautiful beaches, travelers, and commerce
A proud people slaves no more
Drove out the oppressor of the poor
Misused and deceived for others gain
Once again they live in pain
The people who were once set free
Languish and struggle in poverty
How is it that there is no care
For a people whose life is so hard to bear
A tiny nation of 10 million souls
Who have no food to fill their bowls
Our neighbor not far off the coast
Their refugees we will not host
A beautiful people with deep dark skin
Broken down huts they live in
The water there is putrid and dark
The mountains with no trees stand quite stark
Trash and refuse lie everywhere
One can hardly breathe the air
The people are horribly thin
Empty mouths no food to put in
Their children grow sick and die
Vacant eyes silently ask “WHY?”
The people of Haiti silently weep
Agonizing hunger and pain as they sleep
What excuse do we have for the Master
To say why there’s no response to this disaster

It Is Good!
10-30-2009
I cleaned snow this morning which didn't seem fair when I had to get up at 4:30am on October 30th to do it. "This is supposed to be Fall" I grumbled to myself as I got dressed. As I went about my job this morning though I couldn't help but notice how beautiful it was after the snow. It was clear and cold and everything was covered up with clean snow. The sky soon began to lighten and then the sun slowly came over the horizon. It was a glorious start to the day and I would have missed it if I hadn't gotten up early because of the storm. Maybe the "storms" of our life are a lot like this. They frustrate us and inconvenience us but as God's Power and Glory are revealed at the end of the storm we realize it was all worth it! Let us magnify the Lord and exalt His Holy Name together!!! |

Revival Needed and Wanted Here!
10-15-2009
Did you ever think that the satisfied Christian is a dangerous thing? It's so easy to be complacent and everyone likes their comfort zone. How can the church look at the current statistics and trends and not want more? Our assesment has to bring us to the realization that revival is needed. The bible talks about "times of refreshing" coming from the presence of the Lord. Come Lord Jesus and refresh your church! - Pastor Alan |

God is Good!
10-14-2009
Do you ever think about how good God is? I mean if our sin is as bad and God's nature is as Holy as the Bible says then we don't have a chance. In fact one would have to say it would be fair if God didn't care or if we were so detestable to Him that the ground swallowed us up. Experience teaches us though that God must be merciful because He lets us live, doesn't curse us or destroy us, and won't impose His Will on us. He also reaches out to us and invites us to have relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. All I can say is "God is Very Good indeed!!!" - Pastor Alan
